Located at Papago Park. This museum, at the headquarters of the Arizona Historical Society, focuses its well-designed exhibits on the history of central Arizona. Temporary exhibits on the lives and works of the people who helped shape this region are always the highlights of a visit. An interesting permanent exhibit features life-size statues of everyday people from Arizona's past (a Mexican miner, a Chinese laborer, and so on). Quotes relate their individual stories, while props reveal what items they might have traveled with during their days in the desert. An eleven minute video provides 11,000 years of Arizona history.

The Chandler Historical Museum brings to life the story of Chandler and Central Arizona through artifacts, photographs and reconstructed period rooms. Exhibits highlight the importance of cotton beginning with the Hohokam Indians, numerous Hohokam artifacts, the impact that Dr Chandler had in shaping the town and the museum also features the Chandler Sports Hall of Fame. The Chandler Museum presents this history from the first settlers, the Hohokam through the development of the City of Chandler today.

Located on the Valley’s east side, this park takes in 3,648 acres set at the western end of the Goldfield Mountains, adjacent to the Tonto National Forest. The park contains a large variety of plants and animals that call the lower Sonoran Desert home. Along the most popular feature of the park, the Wind Cave Trail, water seeps from the roof of the alcove to support hanging gardens of Rock Daisy. The Wind Cave is formed at the boundary between the volcanic tuff and granite on Pass Mountain. Breathtaking views from this 2,840-foot elevation are offered to all visitors.
